Now that the heavy stuff is understood, we do encourage those who agree to the aforementioned terms and conditions, and who have a hint of courage, to join this group. It provides an excellent opportunity to learn an incredibly challenging, dangerous, and rewarding sport. This particular group is made up mainly of those with minimal experience. It is used as a way to meet new people and try new things within the sport of rock climbing. We learn together.
Being in Chicago, most of our events take place indoors at manufactured climbing facilities. Our outdoor trips are usually to Devil's Lake in Wisconsin and Red River Gorge in Kentucky. (About 200 and 400 miles from Chicago respectively.) Most outdoor trips are lead by AMGA (http://www.amga.com) certified instructors. These trips usually require an investment of under $80 and include all the equipment you will need for rock climbing.

We've all been in situations when we wanted to get out, into the outdoors, and do something new, exciting and adventurous. However, for whatever reason, that didn't happen – either because the friends didn't want to come along or you didn’t know where to go.
We all know that feeling and are re-creating this Meetup to connect like-minded adventurous people to get together for adventurous and social outdoor activities. Our members come from all walks of life, but we all share the desire to do something different every once in a while.
What we do will vary from week to week, but a large forcus will be on day hiking trips, and include rafting, cycling, horseback riding, skiing, weekend trips and whatever else comes up depending on the season and the interests. So if you have something in mind that you've always wanted to try, please suggest it!
Our activities will include ALL fitness level to ACCOMMODATE all members of our group, and most of the time no special skills but 1 - a positive attitude and a desire to have a fun adventure outdoors. We'll try to keep the activities on a budget and will get the group discounts whenever possible. While we don't provide transportation, we'll try our best to coordinate drivers with folks that need a ride.

When a person can no longer afford to provide for himself and his family without working 60+ hours a week because the government takes so much money out of his check, there is a problem. When a family must have two people working to pay afford basic necessities because the government is taking half their income in taxes, there is a problem. The ability to provide for yourself and your family is the most basic social issue. If we do not solve this social problem, the other social problems will not be important. If we cannot afford to take care of ourselves, how can afford to take care of others?
We all agree the majority of our elected officials in Washington DC have become irresponsible with our tax dollars. These elected officials cannot seem to help taxing us and spending our money the way they see fit. They are putting our nation in debt at a rate of $1 million per minute. In the next 10 years, we will acquire a deficit of roughly $9.7 trillion (trillion with a T). They are passing bills in record time without even reading what is in the bills. There are special projects that benefit small individuals and groups around the country to the detriment of those who actually are working hard to pay the taxes.
It is time for this wasteful spending to stop. It is time for the out of control taxing to stop. It is time to let those who are working hard to earn the money, keep the money they earn. It is time to stop rewarding failure and start rewarding entrepreneurship.
We are all Americans and we are all tax payers. We all demand fiscal responsibility with our tax dollars. That's right our tax dollars, not Washington's dollars. This is the tie that binds us together.

Our Friday night events are held at Papa's Pizza, 16040 S. Cicero, in Oak Forest. Papa's is a quaint, family-owned restaurant with wonderful food. The prices are inexpensive and the servings are generous -- plenty of leftovers to take home with you. They offer us Junkies $1 Draft beer and $5 pitchers. We have the party room from 7 PM until 11 PM, but if the crowd warrants (as we usually do) Papa's lets us have the room longer. And since our event is held in the party room, not a bar, those of you who have a young'en you'd like to bring along, are certainly welcome. And there is never, ever, a cover charge at Papa's!

Blarney Stone Pub in Oak Forest is running a Winter Kickball League. Starting December 6, 2009. We had 16 teams this Summer. All Games are on Sunday's Kickball starts by 1 pm, unless there are noon Bears games then are played at 10 AM. After the games the teams go back to Blarney Stone Pub for Drink, food specials, and reserved seating for Bears games . This is a bar league 21 and over that is competive but is more fun than anything. We are limiting the league to 8 teams so please sign up early. The games are Coed at least 2 female players on the field for each team. The team fields 10 players, 15 on roster. Teams can roster more players at 20 dollars a player. My vision for this group is to support new teachers through this difficult period, to challenge these teachers to grow and transform themselves, and to explore as a group the meaning of this profound and sacred calling.

Blarney Stone Pub has it's Spring Fast Pitch WiffleBall league Starting Saturday April 18, 2009. Each Team plays with 3 people on the field and bat 4 people. Each team can roster 8 people since we know not everyone can make it every Saturday. The games are played at 4 pm on Saturdays. Afterwards the teams receive drink and food specials at Blarney Stone Pub. Miller lite is the sponsor and provides prizes for the teams for a number of contests during the league.
This is a low-stakes dice and cards meetup. The focus is on "Bar Dice" games, which are common in WI and MN. Card games such as Screw Your Neighbor, Indian, and Between the Sheets are also O.K. You have a million alternatives if that’s the game you are looking for. All games should be able to be played without intense concentration and/or lots of equipment, and generally be suitable for public settings. Blarney stone sports runs the best adult 21 or over sports leagues in town. We are looking for teams and individual players that want to have fun as well as be competive. Games are played 7 PM Wednesday nights at Blue Island Recreation Center. Afterwards the teams all go to Blarney stone Pub in Oak forest for drinks and fun. The league runs 10 Weeks, Games are played with 6 players on each side. Each week you play 2 teams for 5 sets each. If you are looking to play some dodgeball and have a few drinks afterward then this is the league for you.

You might work part-time outside the home, or have taken time off from your career to stay at home. I worked as an attorney prior to staying home with our son.
I am seeking moms who are available some part of the day, that believe in non-sexist, non-racist and multicultural values, that feel feminism and peace are glorious words, and that want to find like-minded, supportive parents who are willing to talk, listen, learn and grow together as parents, and hopefully as friends. I am looking to start a group for people with scooters that want to ride. I live in Hickory Hills, IL. and there does not seem to be any scooter clubs on the Southside! Our subconscious mind and our thoughts play a major role in affecting our Fibro triggers and causing Fibro fog and Fibro flare-ups. Our negative or fearful thinking drains us from the life we are meant to live. In the end result you feel lonely, depressed, anxiety, pain, emotionally and physically exhausted and more like a victim. The symptoms of Fibromyalgia can be debilitating, stressful and have a major impact on a woman’s life including their relationships, self-esteem and their ability to work and be apart of daily activities.
Fibro is triggered by painful traumas which overwhelm and depress an individual. Once activated the wide spread condition is kept active by ongoing irritations or triggers as I call them. These triggers are not always caused by stress or over doing it, other triggers may be traumas, chronic sinusitis, and musculoskeletal dysfunction, sleeping traumas, whiplash, CFS, cancer and so many other proven triggers. The fibromyalgia syndrome persists as wide spread pain and daily activities amplify the triggers and continue to further injure and prevent recovery of the individuals normal coping responses.
The Fibromyalgia individual is unable to cope with even the smallest daily triggers or stressors. Until the enablers and the triggers are controlled the Fibromyalgia individual’s physical and mental coping skills are overwhelmed.
Discouragement, disappointment, low self-esteem and depression often accompany fibromyalgia making things worse and a constant struggle.

I am fed up with not only the national but also the local government in Chicago. The parking situation downtown, deals being made with closed doors......citizens should get a vote on these things b/c we cannot trust our politicians to make the right decisions for us. We need to form a group to show our strength and be present for all kind of Chicago subjects like:
Citizens being on the hook or tax overruns for the Olympics....we need to be picketing this and demonstrating for this immediately! We should not be signing this document.
Mark Kirk voting for Cap & Trade: he needs to know that citizens are not happy about him signing this bill. He is not fit for the U. S. Senate if he feels everyone needs a huge tax hike.
Quinn trying to raise taxes: people need to protest against all the taxes...regardless of social programs needed. Who is going to speak loudly for the taxpayers. The special interest groups are always whining about losing their funding...what about us?

As online learners, we can appreciate the autonomy we have, but sometimes, it's nice to know that someone else is out there. I got the idea to create this group from a recent networking event that Capella did in Chicago. I had no idea how many Capella learners were in my area.
I do not work for Capella University. I am currently a doctoral learner that wishes to meet, network, and sometimes vent with other Capella learners in the area. So basically, that is the purpose of this group, to meet, greet, and network with others in our area that attend or are alumni of Capella University.
My vision for this group is for us to get together socially as well as professionally, but how all that unfolds will be up to the participation in the group.

I am looking for people who live near Beecher, IL that are interested in getting together and playing different games. Wheter it be cards, dice, or board games. I am open to learn new ones also. I miss the old days when it wasn't all about the video games. We can just drink and have a good time. I also have a pool table and an air hockey table. I have a bar and we can drink the alchol but I would appreciate leaving tips to help keep the liquor replenished.
